Isle of Axholme Childrens centre

The Isle of Axholme Surestart Children's centre is now delivering services in the local area.

The Isle of Axholme Surestart team is split into North Axholme and South Axholme.

Axholme North ward covers:

  • Garthorpe and Fockerby
  • Luddington
  • Eastoft
  • Amcotts
  • Crowle
  • Althorpe
  • Keadby

The Axholme South ward covers:

  • West Butterwick
  • Wroot
  • Owston Ferry
  • Haxey
  • Westwoodside
  • Epworth
  • Low Burnham
  • Belton
  • Beltoft

All of our services and activities are available for all children from birth to five years old and their families. We also offer support for families expecting a baby through our parentcraft antenatal classes and bumps and babies group.

Services to date include:

  • Wiggle and Giggle - fun music and movement sessions for parent/carer and their babies under one-year-old
  • Early Start - Adult Education course for parents and children
  • Ambassadors - Adult training covering anger management, confidence building, makeovers
  • 'Little Treasures' Stay and Play - Play session for parent/carer and child under five years at our new children's centre in Epworth
  • 'Shining Stars' Stay and Play at St Norberts Primary School
  • 'Little Acorns' Stay and Play at Wroot Travis Primary School
  • Tea and Toast at Keadby - Healthy breakfast session and stories and rhymes
  • Babes café at Keadby and Epworth Chidlren's centre - Breastefeeding support group run by local trained breastfeeding peer support workers
  • Baby Massage at Crowle and Keadby Children's centre - For babies from six weeks old and parent carer, aids digestions, bonding and 1:1 time with your baby
  • 'Ferry Fun' Stay and Play at Owston Ferry
  • Young Parents at Keadby
  • Healthy Walks - Run by parent trained walk leader in Keadby, enjoy a pushchair friendly walk together.

We also offer support for families to help them through difficult periods. This support is planned with the family and may involve help with:

  • Setting up household routines
  • Home safety advice
  • Play an learning in the home
  • Support for children and parents to gain confidence and make new friends
  • Support for families to enable them to access services local to their community
