Safety measures introduced around Althorpe and Keadby Primary

A package of safety improvements will be in place from Monday 23 April 2012 outside Althorpe and Keadby Primary School including an advisory 20mph speed limit.

The following is being introduced

  • Enforceable parking restrictions

  • High profile signs and road markings

  • Advisory 20mph speed limit on part of Station Road – operational Monday to Friday 8.30am to 9.30am and 3pm to 4pm

     

The following traffic regulation order will apply:

Station Road

In the vicinity of Althorpe and Keadby Primary school, various restrictions including no waiting at any time/no loading Monday to Friday 8.30am to 9.30am and 3pm to 4pm, no stopping on school markings Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, and no stopping except buses 7am to 7pm.

Trent View

Around its junction with Station Road - a restriction of no waiting at any time/no loading Monday to Friday 8.30am to 9.30am and 3pm to 4pm.

Chesswick Avenue

Around its junction with Station Road - a restriction of no waiting at any time/no loading Monday to Friday 8.30am to 9.30am and 3pm to 4pm.

Cllr John Briggs, ward member, Axholme North, said:

“The measures will address safety concerns outside the school and formalise parking arrangements in the area. 

“They will help reduce speed and make the roads around the school safer for everyone.

“The safety of our children going to and from school is of paramount importance to us.”

Sarah Tate, Headteacher at Althorpe and Keadby Primary School, said:

“Anything that slows down the traffic outside our school and ensures the safety of our children has to be a good thing.”
