North Lincolnshire Council has organised an exciting programme of free sports activities to keep youngsters active during the school summer holidays - from girls only football and on-target girls and boys football to skate parks and multi-sport, there’s something for everyone, Monday to Friday.
The StreetSport programme aims to ease some of the financial burden on parents while their children are occupied throughout the long summer break, and encourage them to keep active during the summer holidays.
Come wind, rain or shine, the local Street Sport team will be on hand to offer youngsters aged eight to 18 the opportunity to get involved in a variety of sporting activities free of charge.
This summer, Street Sport is offering 10 sessions each week in addition to their regular timetable of 25 sessions.
The summer programme will allow young people the opportunity to try Street Sport, who might not have done so in the past. This summer’s activities will be delivered in areas that do not currently have a regular Street Sport session.
Cllr Carl Sherwood, cabinet member for customer services, sport and leisure at North Lincolnshire Council, said:
“The Streetsport programme is a great initiative that will keep young people active during the school summer holidays.
“We’ve got lots of exciting and cheap activities lined up. They are very popular, so make sure you don’t miss out. To find out more, visit our website www.northlincs.gov.uk/streetsport.”
