Get a taste for learning with Adult Learners’ Week 2012

Adult Community Learning

Adult Community Learning is celebrating Adult Learners' Week from 12 to 18 May by offering a number of free or discounted taster sessions to help adults and families discover the power of learning.

Sessions take place at adult community learning centres and other community venues across North Lincolnshire between Tuesday 15 and Thursday 17 May.

Adult Learners' Week is an annual national campaign that aims to engage with and inspire people to pursue adult learning.

Local people are being encouraged to either catch up on skills not learnt at school, to learn for or at work, or simply to learn something new for fun.

Tasters on offer include:

  • Online job search

  • Introduction to computers

  • Family baking

  • Family kite making

  • Art and craft sessions

Family sessions are free and there is a £5 charge for some of the other classes. All tasters must be booked a week in advance and payment must be made prior to the session. All materials and equipment is provided.

Everyone is welcome to attend. Bring along friends and family and get involved.

Adult community learning staff will be on hand to give information and advice on courses for the summer and autumn term.

North Lincolnshire Council Adult Community Learning provides daytime and evening courses for anyone aged 16 and above.

The service provides an assortment of courses, from computer courses through to childcare.
