Don’t let the rain put you off having fun during school holidays

North Lincolnshire Council is now taking bookings for its Energize Summer Holiday programme - designed to keep youngsters entertained and learn new skills during the school holidays.


The programme starts 23 July right through to the end of August and includes: 

  • Free swimming for under 16’s during casual swimming and funsplash sessions only

  • Learn to swim

  • Aqua-nuts (fun games and challenges in the pool)

  • Snorkelling

  • Archery

  • Junior Olympians Camp (total wipe-out aboard the big challenge inflatable assault course)

  • Cheerleading

  • Z.A.C. attack (jump, dance, step and slide junior fitness class.  Sample moves and routines from zumba, aerobics and cheerleading).

  • Goals R us (football activity for boys and girls)

  • Kidz Club (art, craft, group activities and lots of fun)

  • Club JJ’s (instructor led gym sessions)

  • Junior tennis, cricket and football

  • Rounders, trampolining, squash

  • Ball games

  • Arts & crafts

  • Family fun club (sports, games, exercise and fun for parents and children to enjoy together)

Epworth Pool is also offering free swimming for children aged 16 and under during their casual swimming sessions. The same dates and conditions apply as the Leisure Centres.

Activities must be booked 48 hours before the start of the session.  You can do this by popping in or ringing your local leisure centre.

Cllr Carl Sherwood, cabinet member for customer services, sport and leisure at North Lincolnshire Council, said:

“We’ve pulled out all the stops and put together a packed programme of exciting activities for young people to enjoy and take part in during the school summer holidays.

“From free swimming and aqua nuts to cheerleading and Junior Olympians camp - you’ve got it all!

“It’s simple to book just ring or call in at your local leisure centre.

“There’s no excuse for being bored this summer.  Despite the bad weather we’ve been having lateley, you can have lots of fun and keep dry!
