Visual Arts Centre welcomes proposals to exhibit from artists of all levels and
each proposal is taken on its own merit.
We
receive many more proposals than we are able to accommodate. As a result it is
unfortunately the case that we are unable to offer exhibition opportunities to
all artists who apply and selection should be seen as a competitive process.
We keep
details of all artists who apply for exhibitions on record, and often artists
that have been declined a solo exhibition at 20-21 may be selected for inclusion
in group exhibitions in the future.
Proposals
are viewed at regular curatorial group meetings by exhibitions, education and
management staff from 20-21 Visual Arts Centre and North Lincolnshire Council’s
arts service.
Our
objective in the selection process is to produce a balanced and high quality
programme of exhibitions suitable for the diverse range of visitors who use the
centre.
In order
to assess your proposal we need:

A
completed exhibition application form.

Images or
other visual material showing your work (including completed list of
submitted material form listing the images/material you have
supplied).

An
artist biography/ CV (for most artists this will be a short
introductory paragraph about themselves and a list of exhibitions and relevant
qualifications/ experience etc).

Any other
material/ information that you think will be relevant to your application (this
may be a formal proposal, further statements or press and publication material
etc).

any attached images are less than 1MB in size).

note that the exhibition programme for the interior gallery spaces is usually
decided 18-24
months in advance of exhibition dates.
