2010 Adolescent Lifestyle SurveyAlthough health has never been better for people living in North Lincolnshire, inequalities remain. The council, together with all of its partners are working hard to try to narrow the gap between the best and worst off in our society.
It is recognised that healthier lifestyles cannot and should not be imposed on people and that it is important that they are given support, advice and encouragement in achieving this goal, and most importantly, to give people choices.
Some factors are beyond the control of individuals - the so called wider determinants of health, such as employment, housing conditions and transport. Work is being undertaken to make improvements in these areas too.
The local Health and Well-being strategy aims to tackle many of the causes of ill health and put into place measures to give people the choices they need to live a healthy life.
