Have your say now on one of the largest developments.
Local residents are invited to have their say on plans for the Lincolnshire Lakes project that will see 6,000 new homes built in a number of new villages on land between Scunthorpe and the River Trent, along with new opportunities for business, leisure and recreation.
Spatial Planning
Spatial planning is responsible for preparing future planning policies for the area, which help to determine where and when growth and development will take place. We also make sure that policies that are already in place are implemented and monitored to ensure they are performing.
To support these policies we often produce supplementary planning documents/guidance and other policy documents. All policy is required to be in line with the national policy issued by central Government.
Another important role is to produce evidence and background information to support the council’s planning policies as well as promoting and supporting local communities in carrying out Neighbourhood Planning.
The Spatial Planning Research monitoring function plays an integral role in developing future planning policy through the provision of data and information, and the preparation of evidence base/background documents. They also monitor the existing planning policy to assess how it is being implemented.
