The council has sole responsibility for stray dogs, and shares responsibility with Humberside police for dangerous dogs. We have implemented dog control orders as well and dealing with barking dogs and dog fouling.
The council's environment team also aims to safe guard and enhance wildlife through various projects and partnerships.
Cruelty to animals
If you suspect that an animal is being subject to cruelty please contact the Royal Societyfor the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA).

The council also links with the Department of Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) in enforcing national legislation governing the health and welfare of animals. This includes responding to complaints of neglect or ill treatment of livestock on farms, during transport at markets etc.
