To ask for information held by the council you must apply in
writing (i.e. letter, fax or email). Each service has a member of
staff known as an 'Information Champion'. These people make
sure that the council responds properly to requests. They also help
and advise people asking for information. This page lists addresses
of the contacts for each council service.
You can email the address shown below, or you can complete the
Freedom of Information form and the
matter will be directed to the appropriate section of the
council.

Online: Freedom of
Information form
In completing either the website form or by writing in by
letter, fax, or email, you must supply the following information at
all times:
- Your full name;
- Your full address and email address;
- Full details of what you are requesting; and
- The format in which you require the response, eg, as a letter,
fax, or email.
But first check on our website
You should be aware that information will not be dealt with
under the Freedom of Information Act if it is 'reasonably
accessible by other means', which in our case means information
that is already on the council's website. This exemption
(section 21) is one of seven 'absolute' exemptions under
the act.
To find out if the information you need is on the website, you
should use the search facility, the
A-Z of Services or click on one of the
13 categories on the left-hand side of the website's home page
