The Greater London Council (General Powers) Act 1984 gives
council's in London the power to licence premises (including
stalls) where the sale of goods by competitive betting takes
place.
The council may set out conditions which auction houses must
comply with. These relate to matters such as public safety, fire
prevention, and lighting.
Some council's outside London also require auction premises
to register with them.
North Lincolnshire Council does not require auction houses to be
registered.
If you have any queries regarding this please phone the council
on 01724 297750.
