Music Support Service

The purpose of the music support service is to actively support the education of children and young people in the community through the development and provision of high quality music teaching.

The music support service, as lead partner in the new North Lincolnshire Music Education Hub, provides instrumental lessons on:

  • string

  • brass

  • woodwind

  • percussion instruments

  • guitar

  • singing

within the school environment throughout the whole of North Lincolnshire.

It also provides:

  • class based instrumental learning for KS2 through the Whole Class Instrumental Tuition programme

  • opportunities for “follow-on" lessons

  • support with primary music curriculum teaching

  • infant singing and making music package

In addition, it offers support with:

  • school choirs

  • instrumental ensemble groups

  • after school clubs

  • opportunities to take part in larger Hub based projects and activities

The North Lincolnshire Music Centre offers opportunities for children to play in larger instrumental ensembles and is held at John Leggott College on Saturdays during term time. There is now also the addition of new Musical Groups for 3-5's singing, 6-7 recorder and 8's and above drumming.
