After the summer flooding of 2007 and the subsequent report to Government by Sir Michael Pitt, Parliament introduced legislation to improve the way we tackle the risk of flooding. The Flood and Water Management Act 2010 and the EU Flood Risk Regulations (2009) give North Lincolnshire Council new responsibilities as a Lead Local Flood Authority to take the lead in coordination of the surface water flood risk in North Lincolnshire.
Council officers continue to respond to public enquiries. They investigate problems that are reported and arrange gully cleaning, jetting drainage systems and repairs where possible.
Be prepared for flooding. Act now
