Driver Training

Driver training - there are a wide range of benefits to improving driving skills for both professional and recreational drivers.

What advanced driver training can do for you

For most drivers, the only proper training they receive is before they take the basic driving test. This does little to prepare drivers for the difficult, and often dangerous, conditions they regularly come across when driving in all weathers and road conditions. It has been shown that taking advanced training can have a very positive affect on a driver's ability, confidence and skill level on the road. It can also reduce the risk of being involved in a collision. Most people will be given regular training to carry out their job more effectively, but few would consider improving their driving. This could be the most dangerous activity they do - after all there is a one in 200 chance of a person being killed in a crash on the road.

Advanced drivers are less likely to be involved in a crash and are less likely to cause one. Driving will be more relaxed, smoother and better-planned - and likely to use less fuel. Insurance discount may also be available.

Pass Plus

Having just passed the basic driving test, you are still very much a novice driver. The training you have had will not have prepared you for using a motorway, night time driving and a whole range of other situations you will come across.

Pass Plus is designed for newly qualified drivers to improve their skills. It also aims to reduce the risk of their inexperience resulting in an avoidable collision, which could have serious consequences for themselves or others. Insurance discounts are available.

For more information about the scheme and how to find a Pass Plus driving instructor, visit the Pass Plus website.
