North Lincolnshire Local Access Forum
Councils have a duty to set up local access forums. The aim of these is to advise on the improvement of public access for open-air leisure and the enjoyment of the area.
The North Lincolnshire Local Access Forum was set up on 23 October 2003. It held its first meeting on 17 December 2003. The forum has 16 members, including three North Lincolnshire councillors (two Labour and one Conservative).
The council must consider the forum’s views when making certain decisions. This includes decisions in relation to:
- Draft maps
- Introducing byelaws and proposals for long-term closures of access land
- Wider access issues contained in new rights of way improvement plans
Members of the forum include:
- People who use rights of way and the new right of access
- Landowners and occupiers
- People with other interests especially relevant to North Lincolnshire.
