Where to get help
Nationally one in four women, and one in six men, will suffer domestic violence at some stage in their lives. Domestic violence happens regardless of social group, class, age, race disability or sexuality. Victims of domestic violence are usually women but this is not always the case.
In North Lincolnshire in the last three years there have been an increasing number of domestic violence incidents dealt with by the police. Many more go unreported. As awareness of the issue grows, greater understanding of the difficulties and challenges faced by the victims on a daily basis is being achieved.
