Arranging to Go into a Care Home

If you can afford to pay for yourself you can make your own arrangements with the home of your choice if you want to.

Otherwise you can ask us to:

  • help you to make sure that you do need to go into a home. There may be other options that would suit you better.
  • advise you about what it would cost you and how you could pay.
  • assist you to visit some homes to see what they are like and choose the best one for you.
  • arrange for you to stay in one for a short time to see whether you like it.

If you would like more information about care homes you are welcome to contact one of our Adult Services Offices, details of which can be found on our page.

Or you may wish to talk to your local Citizens Advice Bureau (12 Oswald Road, Scunthorpe, DN15 7PT. Tel. 01724 848645).
