Respite care for children

Respite care is a short-term care arrangement provided by someone other than the parent or usual carers for a child (sometimes called a short break). It is used for children with a disability to give the parents a break.

Respite Care in North Lincolnshire may involve a day-time service through a nursery, play group or other day facility. It may involve a specialist member of staff providing support in the person's home. Or it may be overnight in a specialist foster placement or The Cygnets, a small, specialist children's home for disabled children.
