Childcare Development and Information Service

In response to the Government's National Childcare Strategy, the council is implementing plans for the development of early years and childcare services.

The Childcare Development and Information Service sees its key objective as providing an efficient, accessible information service about childcare choices in the area.

It is committed to promoting high quality standards of childcare which meet the needs of parents and children in North Lincolnshire.

The service:

  • helps parents make informed decisions about where to access the best value childcare
  • gives advice on getting help with childcare fees via Family Tax Credit
  • ensures that standards are kept at a continually high level through regular inspection of childcare providers
  • makes sure that childcare providers have the specialist training to expand and develop their skills.

It also has at its disposal a database which will cover a whole range of facilities - including childcare providers, complete with contact names and telephone numbers.

Kids Lincs online

You can find out more about the Childcare Development and Information Service on the Kids Lincs website.

We supply background information on choosing childcare which is matched to the individual needs of parents. We also advise on the training courses available which will be able to deliver a range of childcare qualifications for those already working in childcare settings.

We offer a comprehensive business support service for employers. This provides information for both employers and employees, including:

  • how the workforce can access childcare provision.
  • quality childcare options available.
  • information about the Working Families Tax Credit.

In order to make sure we have enough high quality childcare available to meet parents' needs, we have conducted a Childcare Sufficiency Assessment for 2008.  If you have any comments about the assessment please contact us at the address given below.

We welcome any ideas from parents and employers about further information which would be of benefit to them, such as:

  • your childcare needs and ideas
  • the kinds of leisure and holiday activities you would like
  • where you would like these to be.
