Children's Board

The North Lincolnshire Children’s Board was established in September 2004 to enable local organisations to:

  • work together more effectively
  • deliver better outcomes for children and families
  • oversee the development of the Children's Trust Pathfinder service areas and;
  • prepare the way for a Children's Trust from April 2006.

The board, chaired by the designated lead member for Children's Services, Cllr Tony Gosling, is accountable for all joint planning, commissioning and provision for children and young people in North Lincolnshire.

It includes the council, local health services, Connexions, probation and the police, Fire and Rescue Services, the Learning and Skills Council, VANL (Voluntary Action North Lincolnshire)and schools representatives.

A Children’s Board Executive Group, chaired by the service director for Children, Strategy and Partnerships, was created to manage the partnership work streams for the board.

The Executive Group consists of the main commissioning partners from the Children’s Board. The board and the Executive Group discuss and make decisions about the way that services for children and families are developed and delivered in North Lincolnshire. They make sure that all local services are pulling together to deliver the best outcomes possible for local children.

For more information about the Children’s Board and its work, please contact the Deputy Chief Executive; Individuals (Statutory Director for Children's Services) at North Lincolnshire Council by calling 01724 296296.
