A cookie is information that a Web site puts on your hard disk so that it can remember something about you at a later time.
There are two primary types of 'cookie' used on web sites:
Permanent cookies:
These are cookies that are stored on your computer to track repeat visits and site navigation. They are primarily used to help speed up or enhance your experience of services or functions offered on the site.
Temporary cookies (or Session cookies):
These cookies are deleted when you shut down your browser.
Web sites typically use temporary cookies to ensure that you are recognised when you move from page to page within one site and that any information you have entered is remembered during that particular visit.
Your browser allows you to disable both permanent and temporary cookies. North Lincolnshire Council’s web site uses ‘temporary cookies’ and 'permanent cookies' to help manage the site. As a result if you do disable cookies our web site may not function 100%. If you wish to disable cookies on your browser, please follow the instructions below and select the disable/reject option.
