This means North Lincolnshire Council has the second highest recycling rate for a unitary council in England.
The council would like to thank residents for all their recycling efforts, which have helped to achieve this.
In addition to its kerbside collections, North Lincolnshire Council has eight household recycling centres across the area and more than 40 community recycling banks.
Whilst this recycling increase is great news, there is still a lot more residents can do to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill.
The council would like to remind residents to think about reducing and reusing their waste before they recycle.
A great way to do this is to try and buy products with less packaging, avoid disposable products like throw away razors and barbecues and to reuse items like water bottles and carrier bags.
Cllr Len Foster, cabinet member for Neighbourhood, Environment and Communities, said:
“We can’t thank the people of North Lincolnshire enough for their commitment to recycling.
"Our staff play their part but without the public’s effort we just couldn’t do it.
"We’ve come a long way in three years but it doesn’t stop here. We need to carry on as there is still room to improve.”
