If you're a member of one of the council's libraries, you can now access the online version of Encyclopaedia Britannica free - any time during the day or night.

The council is holding a special event on Tuesday 7 September from 12pm to 4pm to celebrate the launch of its joint book with the History Press next month.

Motorists are being reminded that Frodingham Grange roundabout off the M181 near Tesco in Gunness will be shut to traffic from 8pm to 6am for six nights from Tuesday 31 August.

The council is letting parents know that from September 2010, three and four-year-olds will be able to access 15 hours of free early learning and care a week, up to 570 hours a year.

If you refuse to let age be a barrier to having fun, then Crowle Community Activities Centre is giving you the chance to take part in new age curling and many other exciting activities.

The council is inviting residents to nominate their local heroes to be immortalised in a new piece of public art - a portrait bench to mark the Scunthorpe Connect2 project.
Club 2000
Work will start on Monday 23 August to demolish the former nightclub Club 2000 in Scunthorpe to make way for a large event space.

A new children's show will accompany the 20-21 Visual Arts Centre's Open Art and Sculpture Exhibition for the first time this year.

Leaders from North Lincolnshire's biggest firms met at Pittwood House in Scunthorpe on 10 August to give the council their backing for a Humber-wide Local Enterprise Partnership.

The council is encouraging you to have your say on Government decisions taken at a European level by submitting ePetitions via its website as part of a new EuroPetition project.

People in North Lincolnshire are recycling more of their waste than ever. A whopping 51.4 per cent of household waste is now recycled - up from 49 per cent last year.
