Sports pitches

The council manages a number of outdoor sporting venues in the area.

Brigg Recreation Ground (Brigg)

A 22 acre sports ground that caters for cricket and football. The football provision consists of

  • Two full size pitches
  • One junior pitch
  • Three mini pitches.

The site also benefits from free draining soil. The facility includes changing accommodation and refreshment making facilities. The site also offers accessible changing and toilet facilities.

Co-op Sports Ground (Scunthorpe)

This outdoor venue has excellent facilities including:

  • Bowling green 
  • Four full size and one junior football pitche
  • Cricket pitch
  • Cross country course.

In addition, the main pavilion provides excellent changing facilities, inclucing referees and accessible changing rooms, kitchen and meeting room.

Quibell Park (Scunthorpe)

Quibell Park offers a wide variety of facilities for many sporting needs. Facilities include:

  • Floodlit synthetic turf pitch (marked for full size football & hockey, three six-a-side football pitches and none netball courts)
  • Football pitches (three full size, one of which is the Stadium pitch)
  • Practice throwing area (discuss, shot and hammer)
  • Competition throwing circles
  • Synthetic eight-lane running track (UKA certified Level 1)
  • Cross Country course
  • Cyclecross course 
  • Velodrome (485 metre)
  • Grandstand
  • Changing rooms
  • Refreshment area
  • Large open space for events
  • Public address system
  • Accessible toilet facilities.

West Common Lane

A venue consisting of four football pitches, changing facilities and car parking space.

Winterton Synthetic Pitch

A multi-use synthetic sports venue with the following facilities:

  • Floodlighting
  • Full hockey pitch
  • Full football pitch
  • Three six-a-side football pitches
  • Two half-hockey pitches
  • Changing facilities.
