The rangers at Normanby Hall Country Park look after the deer in the Deer Park. They also look after the large population of peacocks, ducks and other wild fowl in the park. They maintain the woodland using traditional techniques under a management plan that encourages the maximum diversity of wildlife. They are also involved in ditching and fencing and curbing the spread of bracken.
Throughout the year they organise a programme of events based around wildlife or country crafts (charcoal making is just one example). They also ensure the smooth running of other events in the park.
They organise a Junior Rangers Club for eight to 14 year olds. This is to promote an awareness of the importance of conservation. This meets once a month on Saturday mornings.

Waters' Edge Country Park Rangers
The Waters’ Edge Rangers maintain the country park for the benefit of both wildlife and the public. Working with volunteers they follow a management plan to enhance woodland wetland and grassland habitats. They also look after visitor facilities such as footpaths, litterbins, benches and bird hides.
The rangers can be contacted to show visiting groups around the site and are available to answer general enquiries. Each year they produce a programme of public events.
