Quality badge

North Lincolnshire Museum Service has recently been acknowledged for the top quality learning activities that we offer to schoolchildren.

North Lincolnshire Museum and Normanby Hall Museum and Country Park have both met the criteria for the Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge.

The museum services team worked with 280 different schools and about 8,000 children last year from across the Humber region, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire.

About 30 unique workshops have been developed and these give children a taste of everything from life in ancient Egypt to a Roman villa and a Victorian farm to the Second World War.

The most recent workshops look at fossils, the development of domestic appliances, archaeology and how to create a mini museum.

All the workshops are tailored to stimulate creativity and help children develop self-confidence and key skills.

North Lincolnshire Council venues offering the workshops to schools include Normanby Hall Museum and Country Park, North Lincolnshire Museum, Baysgarth Museum and Wilderspin National School.
