'Scunthorpe and District'

Consists of 220 archive photographs drawn from the collections of North Lincolnshire Council's Museum and Library Services.

As well as Scunthorpe, life in some of the surrounding villages is also featured, including Burton-upon-Stather, Burringham, Gunness, Keadby Messingham, Normanby and Winterton.

The book is an insight into the relatively recent but eventful history of Scunthorpe and district, showing how it evolved into a town from five small villages, and should appeal to anyone interested in the history of the town and the surrounding area. It costs £12.95.

All the images in the book are part of North Lincolnshire Council's digitised image archive of historic photographs of North Lincolnshire.

'The Crosby Angel', a Community's War Memorial

Proceeds from the sale of the book (after printing costs have been met) will be donated to the restoration/renovation of the Crosby Angel memorial. For more information contact: Patricia Smith on p.smith55@ntlworld.com or visit The Crosby Angel website.
