All terminals have access to the Internet. This allows you to:
- Access the wealth of information on the Internet - whether you need to do homework, find business information or pursue your own hobbies
- Find up to date information e.g. the latest news or sports results
- Access a range of community information, from what's on in your area to specialist health information
- Access library catalogues via the web
- Make use of local and central government services available on the Internet - for example you could pay your council tax, or apply for a passport online
- Develop your skills and career by finding out about courses, undertaking distance learning via the Web, or checking out the latest job vacancies
- Use one of the free web-based e-mail services to keep in touch with friends and family around the world
Apart from the Internet, you can use word processing, spreadsheets and other functions. These can all help you:
- Create your own CV, write letters or notices
- Update your accounts, or club membership files
- Create a slide show or business presentation
- Practice the skills you have learnt on a course
- Access library CD-ROMs
There are printing facilities for you, but charges will apply.
