Oxford Encyclopedia of British Literature

The Encyclopedia provides a wide A-Z of literature from the Abbey Theatre to Benjamin Zephaniah. It covers the entire history of literature in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. It includes all the major literary languages (Anglo-Saxon, English, Welsh, Scots, Irish, and Latin).

There are accounts of individual authors e.g. Jane Austen and Kingsley Amis. There are also detailed histories of themes, movements, genres, and institutions.
