Smart meters

A smart meter is an energy saving monitor designed to show how much energy you are using in your household.

You don't need an electrician to fit it, it simply clips onto the cables going into your electricity meter. A separate display monitor then shows how much electricity you are using.

Switching your appliances on or off will allow you to see how much electricity they are using and how much they cost to run.

You can now borrow a smart meter from any local North Lincolnshire Library. The meters can be borrowed for up to a week and there is no charge.

Joining the library is simple and it's free. As a member you can borrow books, CDs and MP3s as well as using library computers to access the Internet.

If you are not already a library member simply take along some ID showing your name and address and you can join straight away for free. Or you can join online now.

For further information you can contact us via email at library.enquiries@northlincs.gov.uk
