We
have subscribed to a fantastic new online resource. The Genealogist is
a unique website that brings together billions of historic records. You
can access it simply by visiting North Lincolnshire Central Library.
Using
our PCs you can access
- Birth,
marriage and death indexes, as published by the GRO, from 1837 – 2005.
- Index
to deaths of British Service Personnel during World War 1.
- Index
to deaths of British Service Personnel during World War 2.
- Census
indexes and transcripts (with access to the scanned images) for England and
Wales, for 1841, 1851, 1861, 1871, 1891, 1901.
- Parish
record transcripts (incomplete file, but growing all the time).
- Phillimore
marriage indexes.
- Historic
trade directories.
- Census
crew lists (Royal Navy) for 1861, 1871 and 1901.
- Army
lists for 1806, 1842, 1863, 1881, 1904, 1915 and 1920.
- Navy
lists for 1850, 1866 and 1888.
- English,
Welsh, Scottish and Irish landowner records for 1873.
- Knights
of England 1127 – 1904.
- Wills
index (incomplete file, but growing all the time).
All
this is available in the Local Studies section of the Central Reference Library.
There
are no extra charges for using this resource. You pay only for your time
