Bookstart

Bookstart is a national programme for every baby in the UK. The scheme gives free packs of books to all babies at two ages:

  • Nine to twelve months: Baby Pack
  • Three years: Treasure Chest

It's never too early to start sharing books with your child. Even if they may not understand the words, they love hearing your voice.

Your local library has hundreds of books which are ideal for sharing with young children and babies, who can join from one day old. All books are free to borrow. Babies and young children can join the Bookstart Bear Club too.

Why not visit our catalogue to see what books your local library has to offer.

You can find out more by visiting your local library. Alternatively you can contact the Bookstart coordinator on 01724 856034.
