Sophie Hannah (N)

Author who appeared at the North Lincolnshire Readers' Festival in October 2008.

My all time favourite five reads are ...

  1. A Dark-adapted Eye - Barbara Vine
  2. The Black Prince - Iris Murdoch
  3. Coming From Behind - Howard Jacobson
  4. Serious Concerns - Wendy Cope
  5. Sleeping Murder - Agatha Christie

My favourite book from my childhood was ...

  • Enid Blyton's Magic Faraway Tree and Secret Seven books, and E.W. Hildick's McGurk Mysteries.

The last thing I read before answering these questions was ...

  • The Sweet Sickness, a novel by Patricia Highsmith.

My favourite place to read would be ...

  • In the Jacuzzi at my health club.

If I could only read one last thing in my life it would be ...

  • I would read Devil Take the Blue-Tailed Fly by John Franklin Bardin. He's a fantastic writer, one of my faves, and I've got a trilogy of his novels. Devil Take the Blue-Tailed Fly is the third, and the only one I haven't yet read.
