Libraries

The council's libraries and information services offer an extensive range of services to the local community.

We operate one central library, 14 branch libraries and two mobile libraries. Library users can select from a wide variety of books and other materials.

The library service is also your link with other local, regional and national libraries and specialist information services.

Important information

The online library catalogue will be unavailable from Monday 6 July to Wednesday 8 July. This is so that some essential upgrades can take place. The new improved online catalogue will be available from Thursday 9 July. If you need to renew books online during this time please contact your local library during normal opening hours. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
