Scunthorpe group fitness classes

Group fitness classes are a great way of trying a new exercise and having fun while keeping fit.

Booking is recommended for classes as there are limited number of places available for each class. To book your place, just phone Scunthorpe Leisure Centre on 01724 280555. Email: scunthorpe.leisurecentre@northlincs.gov.uk.

Class descriptions

  • Aerobics: Exercises to help fitness levels and toning.
  • Bodycombat: A non-contact, martial arts-based fitness programme with moves drawn from karate, tae kwan do, kung fu, kickboxing, muay thai and t'ai chi. You must attend a Bodycombat clinic before being able to attend a class.
  • Bodypump: This is the world's most popular group fitness programme. It's a revolutionary weight training workout that strengthens and tones every muscle in your body. You must attend a Bodypump clinic before being able to attend a class.
  • Boxercise: Exercise that combines elements of boxing training to give an energetic and fun workout for total fitness, confidence and stress relief.
  • Circuit training: A great workout for all-round fitness and total body conditioning.
  • Legs, bums and tums: Comprises floor work and aerobic exercise to concentrate on those stubborn areas.
  • Pilates: A gentle but focused mat based exercise, which tones, stretches and mobilises the abdomen and back area. A class for anyone who wants to develop their individual core strength and improve their overall posture.
  • Spinning: An indoor cycling programme. It's advisable you wear padded cycling shorts. You also need a water bottle and sweat towel.
  • Stability Ball: Exercise class using a ball to work the core muscles of the body.
  • Yoga: Help tone your muscles and improve your body posture. Yoga can also help with stress relief, mobility and relaxation.
