Below is the swimming pool programme for Ancholme Leisure Centre. This is for during school term time and runs until September 2010.
Ancholme Leisure Centre has recently refurbished its swimming pool changing rooms. And it now also has two disability changing rooms - both of which offer specialist equipment.
STA swimming teachers instructors course - level 2
Due to the above, both pools will be closed 2pm to 4pm on Sunday 10, 17 and 31 January and 7, 21 and 28 February 2010. To help us run the course, we are providing free swimming lessons for children aged four years and above - places will be advertised in early January. Please contact reception for further details.
Supervision of children and non swimmers:
Water based activities are great fun especially for young children. However water is hazardous and careful supervision is essential.
The following rules are in place to help you, help us to maintain safety:
- A responsible person aged over 16 must accompany every child under the age of four-years-old
- A responsible person aged over 16 must accompany children aged between four and seven years inclusive with no more than two children to every adult
- Children aged eight and over can swim unaccompanied.
Full details on keeping your children safe around water can be found in the attached PDF at the bottom of the page.
For more information please phone the centre on 01652 652031.
Quick guide:
- Aquafit: An aerobic exercise class in the pool
- Family funsplash: Fun pool session with toys, floats and inflatables
- Lane swimming: A more structured swim for people. It has slow, medium and fast lanes for people who want to swim without bumping into other pool users.
- Lunchtime lanes: Similar to lane swimming. Ideal for people who want to do lengths in their lunch break. NB. In addition, we also offer laned sessions
