Group fitness classes

Group fitness classes are a great way of trying a new exercise and having fun while keeping fit.

Booking is recommended for all classes, as there are limited places available for each class. To book your place, just phone Ancholme Leisure Centre on 01652 652031.

  • Aerobics: Traditional aerobics class for fitness and toning
  • Aquafit*: Enjoyable workout designed to use the waters qualities of support and resistance to trim, tuck and tone
  • Body attack: A simple, high intensity class that's suitable for all levels of fitness. You'll experience high-energy sports training moves for cardio-vascular fitness, along with upper and lower body conditioning exercise for building strength
  • Body combat: A non-contact, martial arts-based fitness programme with moves drawn from karate, tae kung fu, Muay Thai and T'ai Chi. You must attend at least one clinic to be able to participate in a body combat class.
  • Body step: A simple, athletic and fun work out using an adjustable step platform. Benefits include toning for lower body, increased cardio fitness and co-ordination and upper and lower body conditioning for functional strength
  • Circuit training: A great workout for all-round fitness and total body conditioning
  • Freestyle Pump: freestyle arrangement specialising in strength and toning with free weights.
  • Line dancing: Formation dancing, partners not required
  • Legs, bums and tums*: Comprises floor work and aerobic exercise, concentrating on those stubborn areas
  • Stability ball: Effective for improving balance, posture, whole-body tone and core stability
  • Yoga: Help tone your muscles and improve your body posture. Yoga can also help with stress relief, mobility and relaxation.
