Volunteer tasks
- Help and preparation of events
- Tree maintenance
- Scrub clearance
- Monitor visitor figures
- Wildflower meadow management.
- Wildlife surveys
- Site clean-ups and routine chores
- Weekend work. To gain event management experience
- Bramble and nettle clearance
- Bird and bat box construction
- Seed gathering (trees and flowers)
- Seed sowing and stratifying
- Footpath maintenance
- Pond management
- Adhere to health and safety legislation
- Adhere to codes of practice
Overall purpose of a volunteer
As a volunteer will work alongside the ranger or other staff at Waters' Edge. And sometimes at other local nature reserves.
Supervision
As a volunteer you will be supervised by the ranger or local nature reserve officer.
