These events are for budding history detectives aged between seven and 15-years-old. They run on the last Saturday in every month (not in October or December) from 1pm to 2pm. A small charge will apply and advance booking is needed.
31 July
'The end of Roman Britain'. 1pm to 2pm.
Admission £2.80 per child. Find out what happened when the Roman's left Britain. Handle objects from the museum's collection. Booking essential.
28 August
'Getting off the ground' 1pm to 2pm
Looking at flight, feathers and wings. Using items from the bird collection we will see how things fly and why feathers work so well.
25 September
'Stained Glass Window' 1pm to 2pm.
Be inspired by the stained glass window drawings of William Fowler and create your own stained glass candle holder.
27 November
'Mineral Magic' 1pm to 2pm
Using minerals and crystals from the collections, we will see how geologists identify different minerals and have a go at identifying some ourselves.
