Most river marinas maintain waiting lists for people requiring moorings. Waiting periods vary considerably depending on the size and type of boat to be accommodated.
All moorings are let as an annual licence with the expectation that the current moorings holders remain in place, subject to their meeting the conditions of the licence.
The use of moorings is regularly monitored to ensure that they are used by the correct boat. In general, moorings that are not used by the boat to which they are allocated are liable to reallocation.
