Community Heritage, Arts and Media Project (CHAMP)

The Community Heritage, Arts and Media Project (CHAMP) is run from Baysgarth Museum in Barton upon Humber. Its role is to develop arts and heritage projects with the community in rural areas of North Lincolnshire.

Recent projects include:

  • an oral history project in Alkborough.
  • an art trail for the Far Ings Nature Reserve near Barton.
  • CHAMP on the Road - a touring exhibition of local artists organised with the mobile library service.
  • Midby Park - a community park project in Barrow on Humber
  • Isle Dance Weekend - ACE funded dance project in Crowle
  • Focus on Furrows - ACE funded ploughed art project
  • Manuscript in the Red Box - a community play concerning the drinage of the Isle of Axholme in the 17th century, funded by HLF
