Workshops
All workshops must be booked in advance by contacting Sarah Curtis on 01724 297072. Many workshops can be adapted according to group size and pupils’ needs. The workshops are suitable for pupils with special needs. Alternatives and adaptations can be made to suit pupils’ abilities. Other workshop ideas you have can be discussed.
Workshops last between one and two hours, although groups are welcome to stay longer under school supervision.
Teachers and helpers are invited to assist and encourage pupils where necessary during workshops. The smaller the group the better the experience. Groups of over 20 will normally be split into two. One half will explore the gallery while the other half works on the activity. However, some activities are only suitable for a limited number of pupils.
Gallery tours are available to pupils about the centre or particular exhibitions. This could be used to set a theme for a scheme of work, provide first hand experience of artworks or to learn how galleries or artists work.
Limited school-based creative workshops led by the Education and Outreach Officer or an artist are available. Contact Sarah Curtis.
