Fun for all the family

20-21 Visual Arts Centre is a fun, safe and creative family friendly venue. We welcome children of all ages and have free daily drop in activities for children and parents to explore the arts together. Creative adults and young people are also welcome to take part in our drop in activities.

All activities are suitable for all ages, free of charge and run from 10am to 5pm unless stated.

The programme may be subject to alterations.

16 to 17 February
Good v's Evil

Are you a sweet angel or a wicked devil? Make your own angel wings or devil horns accordingly.

18 to 19 February
Bunged in a box

Make a box and fill it with your thoughts and feelings for the day.

20 February
What you see is what you get?

A fun packed workshop exploring youth identity through film, photography and animation. Run by artists Annabel McCourt and Rhian Longergan-White.  

Free. Drop-in anytime between 10am to 5pm. Suitable for ages 8+

Buildings of the world unite

Create an unusual collage of somewhere special to live by joining together bits and bobs of buildings from all around the world.

27 February
Ghostly garments

Create an eerie garment with an 'absent body' to add to our clothes line in the gallery. Influenced by the clothing and plaster sculptures of Susan Bowman.

Get building

Inspired by Sean Williams' paintings, make a 3D model of your own home.

13 March
Mr. Faceless day

Draw a cartoon strip imagining a day in the life of Mr. Faceless, taken from the work of local artist Lee Coleman.

20 March
Junk portraits

Draw or collage your own image onto one of our throw away junk objects.

27 March
Mini Tikis

Hand carve your own Tiki statue from dried out clay.

2 to 3 April
Easter garland

Inspired by our Tiki exhibition create an unusual Easter garland.

6 to 7 April
Train tag

Come along and make your mark on our train, in the gallery.

8 to 9 April
Tiki masks

Look at the Tiki heads in our exhibition and have a go at making your own cheeky Tiki mask.

10 April
Faceless finger puppets

Make your own finger puppet, inspired by the faceless characters in Lee Coleman's drawings.

13 to 14 April
Tiki surprise

Catch your friends off guard with a pop-up Tiki card.

15 to 16 April
Emoticon badges

Design your own multi-sided emoticon badge, to flip depending on your mood.

17 April
Jingle jangle

Make your own jewellery from old labels, tin, plastic and junk bits and bobs.

24 April

Serial stickers

Inspired by the work in our exhibition exploring youth identity, design and make your own series of stickers.

 

Children must be supervised by a parent or carer during drop-in activities
  • 20-21 cannot accept responsibility for unaccompanied children who are not attending book-in activities and their safety cannot be guaranteed
  • Parents are welcome to attend book-in activities
  • The programme may be subject to additions or alterations
  • Donations for free activities are gratefully received
  • To avoid disappointment all organised groups should contact us before their visit
  • Groups of more than 10 will be charged £10.
