The Olympic and Paralympic Games are coming to London in 2012. This is the first time the games have been held in Britain since 1948.
Places such as Moscow, New York and Madrid all were eliminated from holding the games and it was between Paris and London (50 votes to 54). It was announced in 2005 that London would hold the games in 2012.
The opening ceremony, where the Olympic Flame will arrive at the stadium in London will take place on 27 July 2012.
This will be a massive and impressive festival to celebrate sport and culture. There will be many opportunities for the public, businesses and volunteers to get involved.
