The Sports Academy
The council and Scunthorpe Town Team, with support from Yorkshire Forward, are creating a new Sports Academy. The academy will provide a high quality sports facility for Scunthorpe. This will establish the town as a first class leisure destination.

Iconic entertainment venue moves a step closer
The council is taking its first steps towards turning Scunthorpe's Baths Hall into an iconic new entertainment venue fit for the 21st century.
Free tickets for under 26-year-olds
A Night Less Ordinary is an Arts Council England scheme in association with Metro, which will provide 618,000 free theatre tickets to anyone under 26 in more than 200 venues across England. For more information about the scheme visit the A Night Less Ordinary website.

North Lincolnshire Museum's new exhibition 'Treasures' is now open until September 20 2009.
Discover the top 100 treasures for 100 years of the museum, with treasures to include objects, people, and places.
For the first time at North Lincolnshire Museum families will be able to borrow one of five history detective back packs free of charge during their visit to the Treasures exhibition. Aimed for use by families with children these backpacks contain games and materials to both challenge the visitor to look for clues and to bring the Treasures exhibition alive. So why not take a visit this summer and try them out?
