The vision for supporting people in North Lincolnshire, and the Supporting People five year strategy (2005-2010)
North Lincolnshire Council has prepared a five year strategy. The strategy lists the priorities and ambitions for the Supporting People programme. This is up until 2010. The strategy will be reviewed each year during this period to keep it up to date and relevant. This will mean we will review the progress made and the work still to be done.
Our vision for Supporting People is:
Supporting People in North Lincolnshire will strive to ensure the delivery of high quality and needs focussed services to vulnerable people, which will help to:
- Provide choice
- Promote independence
- Facilitate inclusion within the community
- And keep people safe and secure
This vision was originally set out in the Supporting People Shadow Strategy (September 2002) which was awarded an ‘excellent’ rating by the government. It was considered just as relevant to guide the Supporting People programme for the next five years. This is why it is the same wording that appears in the new strategy below.

A reader can be downloaded free from the Adobe website (full instructions for downloading the reader are provided on the site).

We are very keen to hear your views about the five year strategy. Have we got it right? Have we got it wrong? Is there something important we have missed? Please let us know. It is only by giving us feedback that you can shape the priorities in the strategy as we update it.
