To ensure that the housing needs of local people are met, North Lincolnshire Council and its partners need to have a good understanding of the housing market and local housing needs. To do this, housing research is carried out. Below is a list of documents for you to view.
Housing needs and market assessment 2006
This is a district wide assessment, which was carried out in partnership with North East Lincolnshire Council. The survey assesses and analyses the supply and demand in the housing market. It also provides an assessment of additional housing needs in North Lincolnshire.
Housing needs market assessment review 2008 and 2010
As an update to the 2006 housing needs and market assessment the 2008 and 2010 market reviews provide up to date figures on the market conditions and housing needs of North Lincolnshire.
North Lincolnshire local housing market report
This is a bi-annual report, which looks at the state of the local housing market with regard to market conditions, supply and demand and the local and national mortgage market.

Private sector housing conditions
A Private Sector House condition survey is conducted every 5 years and the latest survey was carried out in 2008. House condition survey's are useful in assisting the Local Authority to keep the housing conditions in the area under review and support the development of our Private Sector Housing Strategy.
Housing needs of older people in North Lincolnshire
As part of the housing needs and market assessment, a more detailed study into the housing needs of older people was carried out. As the population of the district is expected to age and there is a growing trend towards smaller households, this report looks at more specific housing needs of older people.
Minority ethnic housing experiences
In 2005 a report was commissioned to improve the council's understanding of the housing needs and experiences of North Lincolnshire's minority ethnic population.
Gypsies and Travellers
Supported housing needs of adults with a learning disability in North Lincolnshire
This study was carried out in partnership with Communities Count and provides information about the housing needs of adults with a learning disability in North Lincolnshire. The results will help to plan the future housing and support needs of adults with a learning disability.

Affordable housing stock in North Lincolnshire
This guide provides information about the amount of affordable housing in North Lincolnshire. It gives information regarding all the affordable housing managed by Housing Associations for rent and shared ownership in North Lincolnshire.
Financial viability assessment
The North Lincolnshire financial viability assessment was carried out in October 2008 to assess the viability of providing affordable housing on private development sites in North Lincolnshire. This looks at the potential impact of providing a different level of affordable housing on private developments in North Lincolnshire.
Rural Housing Enabler project
The Rural Housing Enabler project involves surveying rural parishes to determine the housing needs of local people and enable small rural affordable housing schemes to be developed that meet the housing needs of local people.
North Lincolnshire rural housing survey 2009
In 2009 Fordham Research were commissioned to carry out a survey which looks into the housing needs in all rural settlements across North Lincolnshire, this looks at what the level of housing need is in each rural parish to determine where the Council should focus their efforts in securing the delivery of small rural affordable housing developments for local people.
Parish housing profiles
North Lincolnshire Council commissioned Fordham Research to undertake a survey of every rural parish in North Lincolnshire in order to understand the housing needs and aspirations of our local people. The overall response rate for this survey was 19.8 percent.
