Housing strategy

Why do we need a housing strategy?

A housing strategy sets out local priorities for improving housing and meeting housing needs. This allows the limited available resources to be targeted in key areas to make a real difference.

Our housing strategy is a joint housing strategy with North East Lincolnshire Council. The strategy runs from April 2007 until March 2010 and has been classified as 'fit for purpose' by the government office for Yorkshire and the Humber.

The four priorities of the strategy are:

  1. Creating quality homes
  2. Securing affordability and choice
  3. Reaching out to everyone in housing need
  4. Creating safe and strong communities.
