Healthy living

The Government has stated that poor or inappropriate housing is contributing to ill health and injuries in the home, which is why housing in North Lincolnshire plays an important role in the health and well-being of local people.

Everyone should have the opportunity to live in a ‘decent home’ that is warm, safe, weatherproof and with reasonably modern facilities.

Problems including damp, poor heating, unsecured doors and windows, homes that are in a bad state of repair and inappropriate support (such as hand rails or ramps) can all lead to ill health or the deterioration of an existing health condition.

Whether you live in private or social housing, the condition of your home is important, which is why the council is working with partner organisations to help make sure that local people have access to a decent home that meets their needs.
