To be healthy, we should all eat a balanced diet, be active, get plenty of sleep and enjoy life!
Being inactive and eating lots of fatty food can make you unhealthy.
But, these days it can be very hard to know what foods are good for you.
A lot of us are eating too much saturated fat, salt and sugar like fast food and snacks. We are not eating enough fresh fruit and vegetables.
As your body is growing and developing it's important to make sure you eat balanced meals in sensible amounts.
Exercise is another great way to stay healthy.
You can get plenty of exercise just by walking to the shops or school. Playing sports, joining after school dance clubs, swimming and cycling are other great ways to keep fit.
There are lots of things you can do to make sure you keep your mind and body fit and healthy, and it's never too soon to start.
- Make sure you try to eat at least five portions of a variety of fruit and vegetables a day
- Both adults and children need to drink fluids regularly throughout the day to stay hydrated, so try to drink plenty of water, even if you don't always feels thirsty
- Your body is growing and developing all the time so you need plenty of good quality sleep. The average ten-year-old needs at least nine and-a-half hours sleep a night
- Get active. It's fun, helps to relieve stress and keeps your body fit and healthy
- Look after your teeth and remember to brush them twice a day for two minutes each time. Healthy teeth give you something to smile about so try to avoid as many sugary drinks as possible.
